Argentina’s President Cleared in Libra Token Promotion Probe
Argentine President Javier Milei has been absolved of misconduct by the federal anti-corruption office following an investigation into his February endorsement of the Libra token. The resolution stated Milei's promotion was personal and did not utilize state resources, nor violate federal ethics rules.
The Libra token, developed by Kelsier Ventures, launched on February 14. Milei's social media post framed it as a private-sector initiative to spur economic growth through blockchain-enabled investment in startups. His inclusion of the token’s contract address amplified its visibility.
A parallel criminal court investigation remains ongoing. The episode underscores the blurred lines between political figures and emerging digital asset ecosystems.
